Building Integrity in Defence Establishment (BIDE) training The course is developed by five institutions, including ASSET members SNDC and GCSP. Other institutions include the NATO School and Transparency International. The UK Defence Academy takes the lead in this project. The module aims at enhancing professionalism and strengthening the foundation for leadership, integrity, good governance and management within the defence and security sectors through sharing experiences, challenges and best practices between nations, irrespective of their political/ developmental contexts. |

SSR Training Course In this SSR course, participants will acquire an understanding of the definitions of SSR and how the concept has developed. The guiding principles of SSR will be explored as well as concepts for how to develop an integrated approach to SSR in peace operations. The specific challenges and opportunities arising in post-conflict situations will be analyzed bearing in mind the importance of sustainability. The participants will gain insight in several of the key areas of SSR and specific program design, while remaining aware of the holistic approach needed in security sector reform. |

Security Sector Reform - undergraduate course August 31st the very first lecture of SNDC's academic course on SSR was held. This is a five week course aimed for students of political science at univeristy level. The purpose of the course is to teach the students the basics of SSR, how to relate to how security institutions and organisations (judiciary, police, military etc.) may contribute to (re)construction of states and solid societies. |

The participants should come from a country within the PfP programme. However, if the number of participants from PfP countries is not filled, other countries may be considered. |
